Google’s ‘Sodar’ is an Android-based AR tool for social distancing

Google has a new augmented reality tool that can help you follow social distancing rules It’s an experimental project called “Sodar”. This work on only Android Device. Sodar works through the Google Chrome browser and relies on a technology called WebXR 

Here’s how to check it out if you have an Android phone.

  • Open the Chrome browser on your phone.
  • Go to sodar.withgoogle.com.
  • If your phone is supported, you’ll see a Button “Launch”
  • Allow access to your camera.
  • Point your phone at the floor and move it around until a bunch of little white dots appear on the floor.
